Best of Kennedy Center Honors, Pt.1

I love the Kennedy Center Honors shows and similarly themed events, where legendary artists come out to honor and perform a few songs by a legendary artist. Hearing these amazing (short-version) of songs reworked and delivered by a monster talent, sparing no expense on the show and the choirs always gets me choked up.

Here’s a list of some of my favorite moments with video to enjoy when you want to turn on the waterworks. There’s just something about watching artists give back to the artist sitting in the balcony, crying after a lifetime of hard work crafting those songs. Knowing that each of those songs began as an idea with no fans, no adoration, just doubt and hope – and they conquered the world and entered our collective conscience is stunning.
